The wedding of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy

Finally, the day had come. I can't believe it is now all over, but wasn't it a great celebration? It's not my intention with this post to post ALL the photos and videos of the two days of the wedding of the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy, but simply to walk you through a great event and direct you to the diverse set of websites providing them for your information. I believe it's of no interest if I repeat what has been blogged over and over again: I will save energies to report on the couple as they come back from their honeymoon and start performing their royal engagements, which are less advertised and covered by the media. I promise it will get (even more) exciting as they take on their future activities as Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie.

And of course, as some of you requested, I will be reporting on my experience as a royal wedding guest in the next post. Stay tuned!

It all started of at the Grand Thêatre, where the soon-to-be-married couple met youth organisations. The best gallery can be found at Wort.lu, over here.

I must say I wasn't very impressed with this outfit of Stéphanie, which aged her greatly and was rather dull. The hairstyle didn't seem to suit her either, but I was going to learn soon after what a great look she chose for her civil wedding at the town hall.

Stéphanie chose a Chanel ensemble in white and wore her hair down in a half ponytail with curls. Doesn't she look ravishing?
The couple left afterwards to thank the people lining the streets and say hello to everyone they met along the route to the palace. You can find plently of pictures from the ceremony and of the couple out and about greeting the crowds from L'Essentiel.

PPE also has some nice professional pictures.

And finally the gala dinner arrived. The ladies marvelled us in their beautiful dresses and amazing jewels. And Stéphanie, the absolute star along with her dashing prince, looked spectacular in an Elie Saab haute couture dress. Check the guests arriving at PPE and the official pictures here, in a great gallery done by Wort. A video is also available here.

I thought Stéphanie looked simply superb at the gala and the fact that she wore a similar design to Maria Teresa just shows the complicity between these two ladies. It is good for Guillaume that they get along well, as opposed to the relationship Maria Teresahad with Josephine-Charlotte, which surely put Henri in a difficult position at times. Stéphanie clearly expressed how Maria Teresa was a huge support after her mum's death.

And the big day arrived! The weather was superb. We saw Stéphanie arriving in her marvellous wedding dress and the de Lannoy family tiara. The dress needed approximately 4000 hours of work by the couturiers.
Wort has the video of the complete religious ceremony for those who missed it.

You can check the official galleries at Tageblatt, Getty and the pictures of the balcony scene at PPE. See them at the balcony in this video special by L'Essentiel.

Galleries of all the festivities can also be found at RTL.Official pictures were released to our delight.

The couple saw the fireworks with the Luxembourgish at the balcony before heading for a secret (for Stéphanie) honeymoon, organised by Guillaume.
